- John M. Dallas, TX93 contributions. Very quiet and beautiful. Fun tour and roaming around the Pope and Baldwin estates and land on the shoe of the lake. Self guided and self directed tour for us wandering around the many buildings and land that once belonged to these two wealthy families.
- Marianne R. 3 contributions. Beautiful and Worth It. Being rather out of shape, instead of taking the "steep" hike down from the highway parking area to the castle (if you could find a parking spot), we took the boat tour out of Camp Richardson to get there.

The hike could start from Eagle Point in Emerald Bay State Park and go all the way to Calawee Cove in the north over a distance of about 7 miles (oneway).
