- The Hollywood Sign. The Hollywood sign stands as a symbol of Los Angeles….. and may be just a tiny bit haunted. In 1932, Peg Entwshile, a moderately successful actress, decided to end her life by jumping off the top of the H. - Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It is hard to imagine one of the oldest cemeteries in Hollywood NOT being haunted. Hollywood Forever doesn’t disappoint and it is believed to be haunted by a number of high profile ghosts, including Rudolph Valentino, a Hollywood hunk and silent film actor, and the women in black who always visited his grave, as well as Virginia Rappe, a young actress who died tragically of a ruptured bladder that may have been the result of a brutal rape.
Los Angeles is full of haunted places, but you can't access most of its murder mansions, deathbeds, hotels-turned-condos, or abandoned hospitals without trespassing, risking fines, or worse yet — imprisonment.
