Jan 5, 2022 · The Hill Country is Texas’ prime vineyard destination, and Fredericksburg sits right at the center of the state’s wine production and tasting facilities. Whether you are driving from Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, or Lubbock – a fun wine weekend in Fredericksburg is only hours away.
- William Chris Vineyards. Winemakers William (Bill) Blackmon and Chris Brundrett got together in 2008 and founded William Chris Vineyards. The two shared a vision to make great wines from all-Texas fruit at their Fredericksburg winery.
- Lost Draw Cellars. As another believer that Texas wines should be made from Texas grapes, Lost Draw Cellars has close ties with William Chris Vineyards.
- Pedernales Cellars. Pedernales Cellars began as an experimental vineyard in what’s now the Bell Mountain AVA, a nested AVA of Texas Hill Country. This was the first viticultural area designated in Texas.
- Texas Wine Collective. The Texas Wine Collective is a great spot to be able to taste wines from multiple producers. Three wineries came together to create one site where you can swirl and sample an array of wines made from 100% Texas fruit.
- Pedernales Cellars. A couple of miles off the main drag, Pedernales Cellars is located on 145 acres of sprawling Hill Country beauty. Its location provides great views from the deck adjacent to the tasting room where you can relax with your favorite glass of wine on a sunny day.
- Becker Vineyards. Established in 1992, Becker Vineyards is one of the oldest wineries in the Hill Country and the third-largest in Texas. Its 46 acres are filled with vineyards, lavender fields, and a reproduction late 19th-century German stone barn that houses the tasting room.
- Augusta Vin. In an ideal spot off State Highway 16, Augusta Vin offers vineyard views for days. From its two-story tasting room, it feels like you can see the entirety of the Hill Country awash in vines.
- Slate Theory Winery. Distinctive and modern, Slate Theory sets itself apart the moment you walk through the door. The dark walls are splashed with imagery of craniums and Rorschach tests, and the interior seating is cushy velvet sofas in teal and gray.

- Grape Creek Vineyards. Grape Creek is another favorite that has superb wines and a lovely Tuscan-themed vineyard. Located off of Hwy 290, Grape Creek Vineyards covers 22 acres growing a large variety of grapes.
- Signor Vineyards. Signor Vineyards not only has fantastic wines but it might be one of the prettiest wineries in Fredericksburg for taking photos since opening in 2018.
- Becker Vineyards. Becker Vineyards has been producing wine since 1992 with its German-style stone barn the center point on the 56 acres of land. There is plenty of outdoor space to sip your wine under a verandah or enjoy a picnic on the grassy lawn.
