Stanton is a city in northern Orange County, California, United States, within the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The population was 37,962 at the 2020 United States Census. The city was incorporated in 1956 and operates under the council–manager form of government, providing a full range of municipal services.
After the first building was destroyed by fire in 1882, a two-story replacement building was built the same year. The Stanton School, sometimes referred to as the Stanton Institute, provided a grammar school education and had been incorporated into the Duval County Schools in 1870.
The Spanish Colonial hacienda-style house built in 1929 by Col. Philip A. Stanton. Fairmont Middle and High School (later renamed Fairmont Preparatory Academy) opened in September 1994 on the site of the Stanton estate, which includes the Philip Ackley Stanton House.
