Recording sessions took place at Soundtrack Studios, The Cutting Room and Urban House in New York City through June 1998 to February 1999. Production was handled by Havoc, T-Mix, Epitome, Buddah, Shamello and The Alchemist, with Chris Lighty, Jonathan "Lighty" Williams and Mobb Deep themselves serving as executive producers. It features guest appearances by Nas, Chinky, Infamous Mobb, Kool G Rap, 8Ball, Lil' Cease, Cormega, Big Noyd, Raekwon and Lil' Kim.
The album peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the United States. Murda Muzik released the three singles: "Quiet Storm", "It's Mine" and "U.S.A. (A'ight Then)". On October 26, 1999, the album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over 1,000,000 copies in the United States. It is the duo's most commercially successful album to date.
