Households also received the £400 Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS) in monthly instalments between October 2022 and March 2023. The rapid increase in prices in late 2021 led suppliers to withdraw cheaper fixed price tariffs.

Oct 4, 2024 · According to energy regulator Ofgem, the latest energy price cap (running between 1st July to 30 September 2024) is set at £1,568 per year for a typical household that uses gas and electricity and pays via Direct Debit and £1,522 per year for those that use a prepayment meter.
