The first series of the British children's television series The Story of Tracy Beaker began broadcasting on 8 January 2002 on CBBC on BBC One and ended on 4 April 2002. The series follows the lives of the children living in the fictional children's care home of Stowey House, nicknamed by them "The Dumping Ground".
Nine months later, a third series began airing. With a fourth series airing a year later, the fifth and final series aired a year after the fourth in late 2005. A spin-off show to The Story of Tracy Beaker called Tracy Beaker Returns was made to show Tracy's adult life after leaving Elmtree House.
