Robot Wars: The Fourth Wars (also referred to as Series 4 and Robot Wars 4 by roboteers and show personalities) was the fourth series of the British television game show Robot Wars. It was originally broadcast from 2000 to 2001 on BBC Two.
Robot Wars is a 1993 American cyberpunk film directed by Albert Band and written by Charles Band and Jackson Barr. It tells the story of a hotshot mech pilot in a post-apocalyptic 2041 who must stop mech hijackers from provoking global war.
As the final episode of Series 4 to be aired in the UK BBC and Mech+ orders, the Fourth Wars Grand Final was the final episode of Robot Wars to feature the original opening sequence. The Fourth Wars Grand Final was the first and only time that all four Grand Finalists were seeded machines.
The original run of the show consisted of six series broadcast on BBC Two from 20 February 1998 to 4 October 2002 (though the fifth and sixth series originally aired on BBC Choice), followed by a seventh series broadcast on Channel 5 from 2 November 2003 to 7 March 2004.

The show was originally broadcast on BBC Two on Friday evenings for the first four series, moving to BBC Choice on weekday evenings for the fifth and sixth series and both series of Extreme, with all four series being repeated on BBC Two in its regular Friday timeslot shortly after the original broadcast.
