Pele archive. This section of the Amsterdam website is dedicated to Pele, Ian Prowse’s band which were together from 1990 to 1996. Pele played hundreds of gigs, released four albums, six singles and recorded a session for BBC Radio 1. The band’s legacy lives on through Ian and his band, Amsterdam.

All of a sudden (arguably) Britain’s most exciting live band were free to record and play live again. Freedom December 2001 saw the release of the third Pele album This Time Next Year, a collection of recorded songs and demos from 1994-5 that gives an indication of the direction Pele were going in.
In July and August 2009, Pele played two reunion gigs in Liverpool, [3] and London, [4] whilst a final reunion show at the Cavern Club took place in December 2009. Ian Prowse has recently toured the Fireworks album as part of a 25th anniversary re-release.
