Early in the 20th century, Oundle gained a reputation for science and engineering which has continued to this day with the development of SciTec, a major new science complex.
Laxton and Oundle were reunited in 2000; Laxton House, one of two senior day houses, maintains the legacy. Something about Oundle feels palpably more grounded than its southern counterparts.
