In 1937, the Linden Post Office opened at 200 East Rush Street. Construction of the Linden Post Office was funded by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and the Public Works Administration (PWA). The post office's construction team included architect Louis A. Simon and engineer Neal Merlick.
