I would highly suggest supplementing it with other mods. It is intended to make it standalone at some point, but right now it really needs other mods to supplement it. It's a full block that can emit light levels lower than 15, which I think only crying obsidian and magma blocks do. First light block that emits a light level of 8 in general. Since you can also leave it off without a power source it's also one more texture for copper surfaces.
This modification makes 'shining' items illuminate everything around them if. 1) the player has them equipped (in hand/armor) 2) they are dropped on the ground. You may add any Item ID you wish as shiny item, via the settings file. Also supports armor items!
Seeing you have at least 3 lamp supplies, I am assuming you have more than 8 bulbs throughout your building. To fix this issue, either upgrade to a current orientated battery or run multiple voltage orientated batteries in parallel.
Why Simply Light? All lamps are simple blocks with no tile entities or particles involved. The benefits include causing little strain on performance compared to using a large number of torches.
