When Bahrani first pitched the idea of adapting “Fahrenheit 451” to HBO, he was excited about how he could update the story from a ’50s version of the future to a 2018 look at what’s next. “It had stayed in my mind as something that could be good to reimagine in modern times, mainly because of the growth of technology; specifically, the internet an...

One of the big first-act changes the movie made was getting rid of Montag’s wife. In the book, Montag is married to Mildred, who is first introduced when she overdoses on sleeping pills and has to be rushed to the hospital. It’s a classic.

  4. Fahrenheit 451 is a 2018 American dystopian drama film directed and co-written by Ramin Bahrani, based on the 1953 book of the same name by Ray Bradbury. It stars Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon, Khandi Alexander, Sofia Boutella, Lilly Singh, Grace Lynn Kung and Martin Donovan.

  5. HBO's Fahrenheit 451 is horrifically beautiful. It feels both divorced from and intrinsically tied to its source material, the 1953 dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury. Full Review | Jun 28, 2018
