Before that, though, there were a surprising number of patents as inventors either anticipated the eventual development of better blades, or were so impractical as not to notice that blades were not available.

May 9, 2018 · The Collins and Greenwood firm did patent, on August 12, 1873, a design for a band saw frame. Both the Welch, Harrison and the Welch & Chipman saws have the patent date of June 16, 1868 cast into them, and, therefore both saws were manufactured after that date.
Jan 15, 2011 · I picked up a Craftmaster 14" wood cutting band saw dated 1986. Looks just like the Buffalo on the manual and uses the same model #. The badge says Homier Distributing Huntington, Indiana and Made in Taiwan is stamped on top of the base. Homier Distributing seems to still be in business.
