Davey Moore (June 9, 1959 – June 3, 1988) was an American professional boxer who held the WBA light middleweight title between February 1982 and June 1983, the second of two professional champions who shared the name in the second half of the 20th century.
Known as “The Springfield Rifle” for his hard punching style, he compiled a 59-7-1 (30 KOs) professional ledger and boxed all over the globe including Japan, Finland, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Cuba, Panama, France, Italy, Venezuela and England. In 2013 a statue of Moore was erected in his honor in Springfield.
