1. Child's Play
Aside from several flashbacks in the television show, the Chucky story begins with the original 1988 Child's Play. Serial killer Charles Lee Ray transfers his soul into the body of a doll to escape the police. When a young boy receives the doll as a present, chaos ensues.
2. Child's Play 2
Child's Play 2 is set two years after the first. Andy, the boy from the first movie, is living with a foster familyafter the events of the previous film. Chucky tracks him down, needing Andy so that he can transfer his soul out of the doll's body.
3. Child's Play 3
Despite being released only a year after the second movie, Child's Play 3takes place several years later. Andy is now a teenager and attending a military school. Depending on the viewer's taste, Chucky is both scary and funny. The original Child's Play movie is generally considered to be a fairly straightforward horror movie. The series would eventually develop a comedic tone, and films like Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky are clearly meant to be horror comedies.
