Boston Spa. Boston Spa is a village and civil parish in the Leeds Metropolitan District in West Yorkshire, England. Situated 3 miles (5 km) south of Wetherby, Boston Spa is on the south bank of the River Wharfe across from Thorp Arch. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 4,006 rising to 4,079 in the 2011 census.

The origin of Boston Spa's name is not entirely clear; the name is not attested prior to appearing on printed maps in 1771, when it was labelled Thorp Spaw. At this stage, then, the name Thorp Spaw presumably meant 'the spa associated with Thorp Arch' (the nearest pre-existing settlement).
In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Boston Spa like this: BOSTON-SPA, a village and a chapelry in Bramham parish, W. R. Yorkshire. The village stands on the river Wharfe, ¼ of a mile SW of Thorpe-Arch r. station, and 3½ NW by W of Tadcaster; and has a post office‡ under Tadcaster.

Dec 1, 2002 · There was a steady change over the following decade to supplying copies of articles and this was reflected in another name change in 1985, when Boston Spa became the Document Supply Centre. As the shift to copying gradually increased the conveyor systems were removed and scrapped.
