Season 1 is the first and only season of Songs of War and was confirmed to have a total of ten episodes. Each new episode was posted biweekly, or every other weekend, on the Black Plasma Studios YouTube channel, but following the mid-season break, it was changed to be released every other week in the hopes of garnering more views.
Season 1 began its run on November 23, 2019, and ended in March 28, 2020.
As of the end of 2023, it is the only officially animated SOW season. The original creator, David R.B. has left the Studio and the cancellation videos/season commentaries, which had been posted mod-2020, have been deleted. The new owner of Squared Media, MattSquared, has confirmed that Songs of War is still cancelled.
"Songs of War Season 2 was cancelled 3 years ago, and will not be returning. On top of it not generating enough revenue for a Season 2 to be viable within the first year of its release, both the Director and Co Director of the series are no longer with the channel, and all of the assets have been released to the public. This decision is final.
