- Squid Game / NFTs. A round of applause for Pete Davidson, please. The SNL favorite has come so far since his earlier struggles, and has now reached a point where his every appearance is cause for celebration.
- Man Park. Look, almost two years of pandemic-induced near-isolation has been hard on everyone, and in different ways. For the cishet, basic tastes-inclined couples of the world in particular, it's been a lot of women listening to guys ramble on about all the bullshit we tend to care about.
- The Iceberg on the Sinking of the Titanic. The weird, off-the-wall comedic genius of Bowen Yang has elevated SNL since he joined the cast of featured players in 2019 after a year in the writer's room.
- Goober the Clown on Abortion. Whenever Cecily Strong leaves SNL for good, this is one of the classic moments people will look back on fondly. Strong has always had a knack for putting on a funny accent and playing oddball characters, but in this Weekend Update appearance she plays it mostly straight.
- Man Park. One of the greatest SNL sketches this year fully illustrated just how hard it is for men to connect with…well…their partners. We not-so-secretly wish the Man Park was real.
- TikTok. The most accurate TikTok send-up ever was also one that featured a dad trying to get his kid to take out the trash. There are almost too many funny ideas in this sketch to list, but Billie Eilish’s dancing nurse and the Homer Simpson ASMR take the cake.
- Ladies Night Song. This may sound crazy, and I’m slapping myself for saying it, but the Kim Kardashian West-hosted episode of SNL, which aired on October 9, ranks as the best episode of the season thus far.
- What’s Up with That? Another highlight of the Sudeikis episode is the latest installment (after about 9 years!) of Kenan Thompson’s “What’s Up with That?”
