Over 250,000 seniors in Los Angeles County are at risk of hunger. At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels we prepare and deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents throughout Los Angeles, regardless of age, illness, disability, race, religion or ability to pay.
St. Vincent Meals on Wheels serves anyone in need that lives within our service area, regardless of age, race, illness, disability, religion or ability to pay. All of our clients are homebound—confined to their homes because they are unable to shop or cook for themselves.
Our mission is to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents across Los Angeles, regardless of age, illness, disability, race, religion, or ability to pay. We deliver over 100,000 meals a month to seniors who are at risk of hunger.
LAFA is committed to raising funds to expand Los Angeles Meals on Wheels to provide weekend and holiday meals and emergency food baskets for these frail, homebound seniors. $75 provides a week worth of meals for one senior. $150 provides two weeks worth of meals for two seniors.
Mar 15, 2024 · Free Meal Program Available to Eligible Seniors. As an increasing number of seniors continue to struggle with food insecurity, the City is continuing a partnership between the Department of Aging (DOA) and Everytable, delivering free meals to elderly individuals across Los Angeles.
Jan 9, 2020 · Grocery-style food is also provided through Meals on Wheels, via the Food Bank. Food is delivered by the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, and volunteers prepare bags of food to be distributed later.
