With Nadja's nightclub doing well thanks to baby Colin's performances, Laszlo draws up a contract that she refuses to sign. Laszlo takes Colin to perform at a different nightclub in upstate New York, despite Colin stating that he doesn't care about the contract and simply wishes to sing and dance to make the audience smile. Left without a performer for the club, Nadja's nightclub begins doing poorly, and she begins drinking massive amounts of liquor-blood. The Guide expresses her concern for Nadja's wellbeing, and the two of them hold auditions for a new child performer, though Nadja turns all of them down. She books a performance from Le Cirque Érotique, but only one performer shows up, Gustave Leroy, known as "the clown who can suck himself off". His performance ends quickly, and the audience becomes rowdy. Nadja attempts to turn on the club's blood sprinklers, but they clog and the building pressure causes a pipe to erupt and blast a torrent of blood at a nearby wraith.
Prior to his performance in Binghamton, Colin has a sudden extreme growth spurt and hits puberty, outgrowing his clothes and experiencing a voice drop that ultimately leads to him running off stage once people begin to question whether he really is Baby Colin. Back at their hotel room, he lashes out at Laszlo for "ruining [his] life", and refuses to sing any songs that aren't Papa Roach or Evanescence. They return to Nadja's nightclub and inform her of Colin's growth spurt.
