Sweet Sensation was an eight piece British soul group who had some success in the mid-1970s. [1][2] They are best known for their 1974 No. 1 UK hit, "Sad Sweet Dreamer". Career. Formed in Manchester in 1971, the band came to prominence after appearing on the ITV talent show New Faces.
In 2004, Sweet Sensation was ranked #391 in the Rock on the Net web site's Top 500 Pop Artists of the Past 25 Years. [8] In 2005, the dance single "My Body Tu Cuerpo," credited as Dynamix Presents Sweet Sensation, was released on Kult Records featuring Betty LeBron on lead vocals (billed as Betty Dee), and produced by Eddie Cumana and Beppe Savoni of Dynamix .
The second single from the British soul group, a soaring soul ballad heavily influenced by the Stylistics (and led by lead vocalist Marcel King's falsetto), "Sad Sweet Dreamer" became their first hit.
