He is known for his lead role as Constable Benton Fraser in the television series Due South as well as his 2008 war film Passchendaele, which he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in.
Paul began working on the screen in 1985 with the feature film Turning to Stone. With his first taste of film, he started to write for television, penning In this Corner.
Inspired by the dark worlds of American playwright Sam Shepard, Gross’s first play, The Deer and the Antelope Play, won the Alberta Cultural Playwriting Award in 1981 and the Clifford E. Lee National Playwriting Award in 1982.
