Nov 14, 2023 · The Gatlinburg fires of 2016 were tragic for the small tourist town community. The fire began near The Chimney Tops, and wind conditions knocked down power lines and created new fires. The strong winds carried burning embers, and extreme drought conditions also contributed to the disaster.
