Nov 8, 2013 · Remembrance Sunday falls on the Sunday nearest Armistice Day, 11 November, which marks the end of the First World War. On this day we remember all those who gave their lives for their country, all who suffered and died through acts of war and those who were left behind to grieve and mourn.
Today we especially ‘remember’ those who have given their lives through war in service of our country. They have left home and family often to foreign lands in the search of justice, freedom and peace; the effects of which we feel in our society today.
4 days ago · On Sunday 12 November we will remember with thanksgiving and sorrow those who gave their lives in war. There will be an Act of Remembrance in front of the Cathedral beginning at 10.50am, with a silence at 11am.

Nov 8, 2020 · On behalf of Fr Abbot and the Monastic Community, I welcome all who are joining us for this celebration of Mass today. As it is Remembrance Sunday we are celebrating a Requiem Mass for all those who have died in conflicts down through the years, and especially those killed in the two World Wars.

Our eucharist on Remembrance Sunday take place at the earlier time of 9 15am, with the main morning service beginning at 10 40am in order to mark the national 2 minutes silence at 11am. 10.40am REMEMBRANCE SERVICE
