   One of the best parts of the series is also how connected the movies are, despite all the retcons and twists the continuity is actually pretty solid and its not just standalone movies like many other horror franchises. The last movie (until Jigsaw) definitely sucked though.

   Is saw 2 a good movie?

   • It gets a lot of hate (apart from the first movie) but I'm actually a fan of the franchise and think most of the series is pretty enjoyable. The first 3 especially tell an overall satisfying story. The first movie has the best twist but Saw 2 was almost as great and the conversations between Jigsaw and Matthews were well done.

   Is the first saw a good movie?

   • The first Saw is a genre classic. Great high concept premise, plenty of twists and turns, Danny Glover, Cary Elwes (WTF), and some genuinely creative violence. It gets blamed for the torture porn thing, but there really isn't that much of it in there. It's more of a bloody horror thriller.

   Is saw a horror series?

   • Show me a movie series , let alone a horror series, that narratively connects 8 movies, from begining to end. This is where Saw is one of my favorite franchises. Pre MCU, pre Fast and Furious. And I would argue those aren't truly connected in the same manner, at the same level. Yeah its a really underrated aspect of the series.

   Is saw 6 a good movie?

   • For the standards of most major horror franchises the batting average isn't too bad really. 1, 2, 3, and 6 are all solid movies. The only truly shithouse ones are 5 and 7. It's really the only iconic horror franchise this generation got so I'm keen to embrace it. Im surprised that you enjoy Saw 6 more than Saw 5, honestly.
