This song is an invitation for all who are broken, weary, and overwhelmed by sin to leave their regrets and mistakes by turning to the altar. Forgiveness came at the cost of the blood of Jesus. Jesus rose from the dead. Those who are forgiven may worship Jesus, bear their cross, and tell others about Him. Score: 10/10

Apr 17, 2018 · Man of Sorrows is more than a name we ascribe to Jesus. It’s a biblical description given to him in Isaiah, foreshadowing the shape his life would take. Though He abided in the joy of the Father, He—by the very nature of His divinity—suffered in even coming to earth (e.g. Matt. 17:17), let alone dying on the cross.
For This I Have Jesus (For the joys and for the sorrows) This song was triggered by a line from a sermon. Bible teacher Charles Price was preaching at Spring Harvest in 1994, and illustrated some of the points in his talk by referring to an elderly Christian he knew.
Jun 2, 2014 · “Man of Sorrows” is a brilliant combination of theological verses about our betrayed, suffering, humiliated, dying and resurrected Christ, who is glorified with praise in a vibrant chorus.
Sep 4, 2019 · The first part can either be described as trading worldly sorrow for Godly joy, or it could express the unbiblical concept that following Jesus automatically means no more suffering in this life. I believe the second to be more likely due to Stanza 3 (see section 2).
