I went to NYU law and what made it unique to me was a couple things. First was the thriving public interest/social justice oriented community. NYU sends a greater proportion of its students into public interest than some of its peers and it shows.
Like if you go to NYU, you can feel very confident you can get an NYC biglaw job. If you strike out in Seattle out of law school, make sure to also have that backup, even if it is with the eye to go back to Seattle in a few years once you’ve built up your resume more.
Many students get admitted to NYU without submitting any applications for NYU’s specific scholarships. If you are from an underrepresented group, I would recommend you write that option essay. If it doesn’t apply to you, don’t.
Jan 2, 2024 · Like most top law schools, NYU allows applicants to include optional essays with their application. These essays can cover topics not addressed in your personal statement that will help the admissions committee gain a better understanding of who you are as a person.
