Designed by Scottish firm Stallan-Brand, Broomlands Primary School and Nursery Class in Kelso opened in 2018 and features a dramatic 56 feet-long cantilever.

  5. In March 2023, a team of inspectors from Education Scotland visited Broomlands Primary School and Nursery Class. During our visit, we talked to parents/carers and children and worked closely with the headteacher and staff. The inspection team found the following strengths in the school’s work.

  6. Our school, which is in the beautiful Scottish Borders town of Kelso, serves the north of the town and has a school roll of 242 pupils and we also have our own well subscribed nursery with 37 pupils. Broomlands Primary School first opened its doors to the community in 1979.
