   Dec 21, 2020 · I dislike the Mod 2 version for two reasons: 1. No interchangeable back strap. 2. The grip texture feels slippery in my hand. I also prefer my 4 inch model to the 3.3 inch version. And I have no problems securing the grip safety when shooting the gun.

   I have the XDS and an original XD subcompact (so mod.1 I guess). I believe the only difference between the mod.1 and mod.2 is the grip texture and the sights are slightly different. The XDS is better for carry because is is noticeably lighter and thinner making it easier to carry IWB.
