    Law & Order: Criminal Intent is a crime drama television series aired on NBC that premiered on September 30, 2001 and concluded on June 26, 2011 on USA Network. Unlike the previous series, CI shows some events from the point of view of those involved in the crime.

    As with the original Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, episodes are often loosely based on real crimes that have received media attention, which is also known as being "ripped from the headlines".

    Law & Order: Criminal Intent is the only series in the franchise not to air new episodes on NBC as well as being the only series to air new episodes on a cable channel, with episodes premiering on the USA Network from the seventh season. It is also the only series to have completely different main characters credited in various different episodes and not every episode.

    The entire series is available for streaming on Peacock in the United States. In Australia, seasons 1-7 are available to stream for free with ads on 7Plus.
