Translational research (also called translation research, translational science, or, when the context is clear, simply translation) [1][2] is research aimed at translating (converting) results in basic research into results that directly benefit humans. The term is used in science and technology, especially in biology and medical science.
Biography. Séverine Hubscher-Davidson is Head of Translation Studies in the School of Languages and Applied Linguistics at The Open University (United Kingdom). She has taught translation theory and practice for over 15 years and published articles on various aspects of translation psychology and well-being in well-established journals such as Target, Meta, and Translation Studies.
