Filming
Principal photography for the series commenced in early November 2018 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Swamp Thinghas tentatively been scheduled by DC Universe to be released from late May 2019 to late August 2019. In May 2020, The CW acquired the broadcast rights to the series. It began airing on the network on October 6, 2020 and concluded on December 22, 2020.
On June 6, 2019, it was reported that Swamp Thing was canceled and would not receive a second season.However Crystal Reed said "If the series were somehow revived, she "would return to the role in a heartbeat. I loved my crew and my cast and our creative team. There would be absolutely no hesitation on my part."
