Takes a bit more effort to enclose than the houses in the gated community but zombies don't really travel through here. Fire Station across the fence, close to the shopping district. If you're leaving Rosewood after a few weeks I'd recommend Jenny's Table. There's a small apartment on the 2nd level.
My current character is living in a fortified farm house in a small neighborhood to the east of the Rosewood elementary school. Only problem so far is that it’s a long walk back to town but with a car it’s not so bad!

This location is located on the southwest part of town and not only makes for a great starting location, but also contains some extremely good loot. If you picked traits that help you use an axe, you can find fireman's axes in the storage rooms in this building which can make you a very strong contender against zombies.
