This manual contains tools and techniques to improve the assessment of substance addicted people and carry out a plan for recovery.
The manual details the common parts of effective treatment. It uses the concept of node-link mapping to support the delivery of these techniques and is organised into sessions.
It covers:
•setting, achieving and rewarding goals
•building social support for change
•providing information to reduce harm
Getting back to everyday life. Getting home is a huge step on the road to recovery. While it is often an enormous relief to be home, some may find the first few weeks a bit of an emotional rollercoaster in terms of readjusting to everyday life, and being without constant clinical care and support.
