Eudaimonia has been defined as a life well-lived, or human flourishing. This approach can be traced to Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics , which focuses on the philosophical underpinnings of happiness (translated by Irwin, 1985).
In this chapter, the author's intention is to explore how human strengths—their use and development—can be understood within the context of subjective, psychological, and eudaimonic well-being.
