Monk finally reaches the home of Cloud, the drug dealer whom the Angels were to have met at the start of the film. The remainder of the Angels are at Cloud's, and they follow Monk back to Lost Cause. In the morning, General ties Vicki to a pole and threatens to burn her alive if the hippies don't turn over Long John and Juicer.
The Angels' leader Long John (Scott Glenn) is challenged by the Dragons' leader General (Charles Dierkop) to a race and loses. Soon after that John meets a young hippie woman and it's infatuated with her. The leader of her gang Henry (Gary Busey) is not happy about the Dragons.
Angels Hard As They Come isn't too distinctive, and now is mostly remembered due to Demme's writer and producer credits, but its aggressive posturing is entertaining enough, even if the expected nihilistic ending is closer to a happy one. Music by Richard Hieronymous. Reviewer: Graeme Clark
