Nov 28, 2016 · The Bomar body is shallow and even when the slide is cut deeply enough to require a front sight around .150 or less, the slide top radius dives under the sight body on both sides. So, if you're planning to have a front sight of say around .160-.180" the LPA will look better IMO, because the slide cut will have to be deeper and the shape will mate up nicer, IMO.

Newer model Gold Cups use a Bomar style sight cut. LPA - It can be quite difficult to distinguish the difference between the LPA and Bomar cut without measuring or having had a decent amount of experience looking at the sights. They are both popular adjustable style rear sights for the 1911 and are quite common.
