The State-Trait-Cheerfulness-Inventory (STCI) is a self-report instrument measuring the three concepts of cheerfulness, seriousness, and bad mood as both states (STCI-S) and traits (STCI-T).
The state trait cheerfulness inventory can be either a 18, 30 or 60 item questionnaire regarding feelings and state of mind. Items are scored on a 1-4 scale, with the total scale score calculated as a sum within the different subsections e.g. trait-cheerfulness (CH).
