The final epic battle (and the beach and sharp cliffs where Snow finds the white horse at the beginning of the film) was shot at Marloes Sands, in the Pembrokeshire coast, Wales. Ravenna's castle, located on an island off the coast, was added on top of Gateholm Island at the end of the beach.
One of the film's flaws is inadequate character motivation for some things which happen, including the ten-year imprisonment of Snow White (Kristen Stewart) in the north tower. Why would Ravenna not have simply killed the girl immediately, since even a prisoner is a potential rival?

Jun 1, 2012 · The violence is heavy. There are several battle scenes (one might argue they take up the majority of the film). People are vividly stabbed with swords, knives and punctured with arrows. The deaths are a bit more realistic than usual, with the victims writhing in pain and then dying.
