people now use the acronym i.r.l. for, yes, “in real life,” but it is used to signify d.i.d. (dissociative identity disorder)/m.p.d. (multiple personality disorder)/alters. ones based on fictional characters are known as fictives. most people on ponytown do, in fact, not have any of these disorders, but fake them anyhow.
When I AM experiencing that DA, seeing the word "IRL" in my display name doesn't mean anything to me. All it means to me is that that's me. I am in the process of recovering. It's not easy, but this is what I do to cope until i can get somewhere better.
I'm not in the place to say, nor do I know how to explain, however TD/TT is common in Pony Town. Touch discomfort is quite serious and very much real. If you can believe me anyways !
