   Nov 14, 2020 · I've spent an hour or so searching the internet for people's thoughts on them and am no closer to deciding which one to try. Three of the main ones appear to be DarthMod, La montée de l'Empire (LME3) and Napoleonic: Total War III (NTW3). They each have their advocates, so I assume they're all good.

   Is Napoleon a good game?

   • As I mentioned before, there are new agent types, and guerilla war mechanics are introduced here. The downside would the relative similarity to the grand campaign. Others Napoleon contains more historical battles, which are quite fun to play. Siege battle are smoother in Napoleon as the ones in Empire are draggy.

   Is Napoleon better than Empire?

   • The battles, however, were better and the game definitely looks better. Empire can look pretty poor, with napoleon being much more polished. I think it's quite simple, Empire has the better Campaign experience, while Napoleon has the better battle experience.

   Is Napoleon better than NTW?

   • In Napoleon, the time scope is small, so tactics, for the most part, will remain similar. Since Napoleon is set later in the time period, you'll find yourself using more artillery. And the battles are now more fastly paced in NTW since the technology and drills have been improved over time. Cosmetics I have to give this to Napoleon.

   Napoleon's battles are FAR more polished. The artillery is much more responsive, effective, and all around awesome. The troops, if I remember correctly, have more variation and formations. If you're all about the battles I would VERY MUCH recommend Napoleon.
