The Louis-Philippe is characterised by a calmly moving basic form with stylistic features such as volutes, oval shapes, mirrored veneers, lathe work and crowning rocaille carving. Similar to the Biedermeier style, the woods frequently used are cherry, walnut, ash, birch and mahogany.
