The Locker is a Lobby feature in Fortnite. It is where the Player can manage and equip their owned Cosmetic Items. Some types of Cosmetic Items (such as Gliders and Contrails) may not be available to use in Save the World. Players can access the Locker in-game with the Changing Booth, only in Creative.
•The Locker is divided into different tabs. Each tab contains unique and related types of Cosmetic Items that can be selected for use:
•Character: Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes, Gliders, Contrails and Auras;
•Emotes: Emotes;
•Wraps: Wraps;
•Lobby: Banner Icons, Lobby Music and Loading Screens;
•Instruments: Guitars, Bass, Drums, Microphones and Keytars;
The Save the World Locker looks and works mostly the same as in other Modes, with the active cosmetic loadout and presets being shared across all of them. Contrails and Gliders can't be used as there is no way to enter in the Skydiving or Gliding state in Save the World. Auras can't be used either. Wraps can be used in the Hoverboard and in all types of Weapons, except Melee Weapons. All cosmetics items in the Instruments, Cars, Jam Tracks and LEGO® Kits tabs are not usable in Save the World.
When an Outfit is not equipped, the Player will use the default appearance of the currently active Hero. Some Heroes have Unlockable Styles that can be selected in the Locker after evolving that Hero. Some Heroes will also include unique Back Blings that can be worn. These Back Blings can be used even when the Hero's default appearance is not currently equipped.
Before Pre-Season
•Early versions of the Locker were seen in the Alpha phase of the game. A feature which allowed you to mix and match parts of the Outfits you owned was seen.
Pre-Season
•Update v1.6 •The locker was first introduced with very few cosmetics available for use, but the Season Shop was later introduced, allowing players to unlock and purchase Outfits, Pickaxes and Gliders.
Season 1
•Update v1.8 •Introduced a new way to earn Cosmetic Items: Item Shop. It allowed players to purchase every type of Cosmetic Items besides Lobby Musics, Wraps, Loading Screens, Back Blings and Contrails.
•In Chapter 2: Season 3, it was announced that Save the World would no longer be able to support all upcoming Cosmetic purchases from Battle Royale over the coming months. However, all Cosmetics introduced from Chapter 2: Season 3 onward are still compatible with all modes.
