Sep 26, 2023 · Disney launched its fifth cruise ship in July 2022. After a ten years with no new ships, expectations were high for the newest cruise ship in the Disney fleet. In many ways, the Disney Wish cruise ship has completely smashed expectations; but there are a few areas where we feel that it may have fallen.
The 2021-built/2022-inaugurated DCL Disney Wish cruise ship is The Walt Disney Company's newest and the first in a series of three newbuilds constructed by Meyer Werft Papenburg. The Disney ship Wish was originally scheduled for launch in 2021-Q4 (inauguration by Christmas 2021) and to start passenger shipping operations in January 2022.
