Jun 7, 2024 · Admissions at Cranbrook start in Year 7 for Day pupils, but the school takes boarders from Year 9. They need to have either a British or Irish passport or a Right of Abode. As Cranbrook School is a selective Grammar School, all candidates have to undergo testing.
Sep 28, 2007 · The current plan A is: daughter stays at Ecole Active Bilingue until end of primary school (modified French curriculum, small annual fees). Daughter spends one year in England at boarding school (poss Sevenoaks, poss KC Pembury).
IN-YEAR APPLICATIONS FOR YEAR 10 AND YEAR 11. Students wishing to make an In-Year Application for Years 10 and 11, should contact the the Admissions Team to check on availability of a place on 01580 711804 or email registrar@cranbrook.kent.sch.uk. Entry for these other year groups will also be assessed using a CAT4 test.
Welcome to Boarding. Our top priority is that your children are happy, healthy and well cared for – allowing them to achieve their full potential academically, socially and physically.
Cranbrook typically has 60 places available at 11+ and the admissions process involves taking the Kent Test (the old 11+). In Year 9, which is 13+, there are 38 day places and 52 boarding places available, 34 for boys and 18 for girls.
Since September 2019, the school has five day houses and six boarding houses. Each house works in conjunction with the main school to provide pastoral care and academic support. Since 2024, Sellers has been converted into a through house from Year 7 to 13 and School Lodge has been closed.
