Our beloved husband and father Christopher Gunning passed away from renal cancer on 25th March 2023. We are all devastated, despite knowing that his time was limited the pain of losing him is not any more bearable.
After the extremely strenuous circumstances around the composition of his Third Symphony, it is happy to report that he looks in good health and is in good spirits, perhaps ready to add further to his symphonic canon.

Christopher Gunning is known well to musician friends of mine and, like them, I’ve long admired his music for film and television. But my main reason for wanting to interview him was the emergence of his concert works from what I suspect he still feels is the shadow of his music for the screen.
