To tell the epic story of Breaking the Maya Code required shooting at over forty locations in nine countries. In Mexico, production locations included the ancient sites of Palenque, Chicanná, Toniná, Cobá, Calakmul as well as numerous historic locations in Yucatán, site of the first Spanish conquest of the Maya.
