- In general, the term "Biblical/Bible Art" refers to all visual art derived from stories in the Old or New Testaments - including stories from the Apocryphal Gospels, like Judith and Holofernes, and Susanna and the Elders, which were popular in Renaissance art in Rome, as well as in the Neapolitan School, as well as in later Mannerist and Baroque painting (1550-1700).
