Dec 21, 2008 · Could you tell me what the difference between "patent lie" and "blatant lie"? Here're definitions from Cambridge Dictionary. I think patent lie focuses on a lie is obvious; blantant lie focuses on a lie is not only obvious but also intentional.

This chapter defines lying roughly as follows: a lie is a deliberate false statement that the speaker warrants to be true. Two features of this definition are noteworthy. First, contrary to most standard definitions, it argues that lying does not require that the liar intends to deceive others.
